Thank you to Darla M. and Barb J. who, by their enthusiastic and gracious participation, launched the Calgary Board of Education’s 125th anniversary photo book project in mid-January. The photo book is just one of several 125th Anniversary initiatives. The intent of the book is to feature 125 individuals in the CBE who exemplify the heart and soul of our school system regardless of position or responsibility. Through their photos and profiles, we hope to capture the essence of who we are at the CBE and why we are so proud to be part of this great public education system.

Since January, several others have had their photos taken and been interviewed; we still have many others to schedule throughout the next four to six months.If you are a CBE employee and haven’t nominated anyone yet, there’s still time to do so. We’re just over halfway to our goal. We’d like to feature 125 individuals and the occasional small work team who support students and learning; our preference is for individuals more than groups. Everyone who is currently employed by the CBE is eligible for nomination. We are striving for a cross-section of all positions.

A special note of appreciation goes to Jacques, Jane and Kathleen from Communications Services who are putting the book together.
