Benefits Program

The benefits program at the Calgary Board of Education is designed to provide our eligible permanent employees and their dependents with financial protection and/or assistance with the costs of wellness and health care to provide peace of mind in supporting good health.  There is no waiting period.  Participation in our group benefit plans begins immediately on your first day of work.  Activation of a Health Spending Account varies according to dates established in our collective agreements.

Most of the group benefit premiums are paid by the CBE or are cost shared between the CBE and the employee. The cost sharing arrangements are outlined in our collective agreements or the terms and conditions of employment for management and exempt employees.

The benefits program is comprised of the following benefits:
