References
The Calgary Board of Education conducts reference checks of applicants that are work related. Please have at least two business or work related references ready, should the CBE be interested in your application. It is recommended that you contact your references in advance of providing them to the CBE to ensure that your referee is ready to provide your work related reference and that their contact information is up-to-date.
We accept references from supervisors, work colleagues, and teachers or professors, however, we require that at least one reference is from your current or previous work or volunteer supervisor. Letters of reference are also acceptable as long as we can still contact the referee.
Personal information is collected under the authority of the School Act and Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). This information will be used to determine your suitability, eligibility and/or qualifications for employment with the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) and to manage the staffing program at the CBE and will be treated in accordance with the privacy protection provisions of FOIP. Please visit our FOIP website at www.cbe.ab.ca/legal/foip for further information or for matters concerning the FOIP Act.
