The Board of Trustees approved this year’s School Capital Plan, which will be submitted to the Minister of Education. The CBE is required to submit a list of new school and school modernization projects to the provincial government each year. Based on the capital plan, the Province determines funding for school projects.
Projects requested in last year’s School Capital Plan were not approved by the Province, which has increased the number of first year priorities in this year’s Capital Plan. 2010 – 2011 priorities include the following projects:

With no new school capital funding in the Province’s April 7th budget announcement, the Trustees want to work with the government to develop a long-term plan that will address our need for building schools in developing communities as well as our need to maintain and modernize existing schools.
The CBE is committed to providing safe, secure and well-maintained school buildings along with providing modern learning environments that can accommodate 21st century technologies.
