WorldSkills 2009 is coming to Calgary

What is WorldSkills 2009?

  • WorldSkills2009The largest special event in Calgary’s history, after the 1988 Olympics, with more than 900 competitors from 49 countries.
  • Federal, provincial and local government are providing significant funding and endorsement to this event.
  • 150,000 students and public spectators will attend the competitions being held on Stampede grounds.

Who is competing?
WorldSkills will present highly skilled post secondary students competing in 48 trades and technologies.

What does it mean for the Calgary Board of Education?
The Corporate Partnerships team will be coordinating several exciting opportunities for students in all grades in conjunction with the WorldSkills 2009 competitions. Involvement with WorldSkills will support students in achieving the Board of Trustees Ends.
