CBE school councils eligible for free ASCA membership for this school year
The Calgary Board of Education (CBE), the Alberta School Councils’ Association (ASCA) and the Calgary Association of Parents and School Councils (CAPSC) met recently to explore ways in which all three groups can work together for the benefit of CBE school communities.
The CBE, ASCA and CAPSC are pleased to announce that as an outcome of these discussions, the CBE has obtained a one-year trial district membership with ASCA. ASCA is offering all CBE school councils an automatic membership in the Alberta School Councils’ Association at no cost for the 2011-2012 school year.
Full information on ASCA’s services.
If your school council would like to take advantage of this free membership, please register on the ASCA online community. School Councils Chairs, once registered, will receive group administration privileges that will allow you to post school council minutes and create discussion forums on your school group homepage for your school community. You can also explore the other features the site has to offer.
The CBE is pleased ASCA has agreed to provide school councils with this opportunity. We believe the services offered by ASCA will help support the work of our school councils.
This membership complements the unique and important role that CAPSC plays as a recognized stakeholder within the CBE. CAPSC works collaboratively, and with an educative purpose to provide a regular forum for parents and school councils to engage, network and advocate.

The CBE, CAPSC and ASCA are proud to be working together in support of Calgary school communities.
