During the past school year, two meetings were held with school council members and other stakeholders to review student accommodation issues in the Sundance Community. Most recently, a meeting was held with school council members and parents at both Fish Creek Elementary School and Sundance Elementary School on February 7, 2006.
On March 16, 2006, a meeting of the Scenario Development team was held at the Area V office at Haysboro Centre to begin work on the creation of scenarios for student accommodation in the Sundance community. Among the parents and community members who were invited to participate in the Scenario Development Team, twenty-one people attended the meeting as members of the created team. Naomi Johnson, Director of Area V, facilitated the meeting and reviewed the purpose of the Scenario Development Team as part of the Calgary Board of Education’s Administrative Regulation 1090- Long Range Student Accommodation Planning Process. Also as part of this first meeting, the Scenario Development Team worked together to establish “understandings” and “values” that would guide the work of the team. These “understandings” and “values” are included on the presentation that is available on this website. An Area V principal relayed information that formed a part of the communication history and is included as part of this summary.
On April 5, 2006, a second meeting of the Scenario Development team was held at the Area V office at Haysboro Centre to continue work on the creation of scenarios for student accommodation in the Sundance community.
