Amber Stewart is currently serving her first term on the Board of Trustees. Wards 12 & 14 encompass the “deep south” of Calgary.
Amber is a passionate advocate for public education. She believes that a good education system is the hallmark of every great society and that there is no greater responsibility or privilege than to serve and represent the citizens of Calgary. Amber is also an eager volunteer. In the past, she has served as the Vice President and President of her Community Association as well as Secretary for her children's School Council. In addition, she spent four years as a league organizer for her local community’s Timbit soccer program.
Born in Calgary and raised on the west coast, Amber returned to Calgary in 1998 and completed her Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from the University of Calgary in 2004. Previously an office manager, she has worked at the University of Calgary, within the non-profit sector and as a bookkeeper in the seniors’ housing industry.
Amber has been married to Alan for 16 years and together they have 3 daughters. When she is not out and about in the community, she is camping with family, running half marathons with friends or taking in Calgary's arts scene with her husband.
