David Stevenson

David Stevenson brings over 30 years of CBE experience to his role as Deputy Chief Superintendent of Schools. His strong commitment to student learning, along with his unique combination of skills and knowledge developed through his work as both a teacher and a Registered Psychologist, provide CBE students, parents and staff with solid guidance for improving student achievement. David’s wealth of experience within the CBE includes serving as a classroom teacher, school psychologist, consultant, specialist, assistant principal and principal, Director of Special Education and Director in Areas I and III, and Acting Superintendent, Learning Enhancement.

Each of David’s roles has required him to assume responsibilities for a variety of complex educational portfolios. His wealth of experience in dealing with the vast array of student needs, and his extensive work with students, parents and staff, combined with over two decades of leadership experience, have provided solid direction for improving student learning opportunities within the CBE.

Through a combination of mentoring and collaboration, David has guided staff involvement in a number of significant system and Area change initiatives. His proven ability to successfully engage all members of the educational community in transparent processes within the CBE’s framework of accountability is a definite asset to our jurisdiction.
