curriculum planning

Environmental themes offer an excellent vehicle to integrate school wide learning and teaching strategies, engage the community and explore facility retrofit possibilities. The objective of this planning process is to collaboratively develop and implement a plan intent on instilling a higher level of environmental stewardship within the school and the community through introducing programs and activities that support environmental literacy.

The EcoTeam would facilitate a long term planning process that lead teachers, students and their families towards becoming knowledgeable, concerned and empowered individuals who understand their personal impact on the earth and are actively seeking ways and means to maintain or improve the health of the planet.

Through the use of a planning model and functioning within the traditional school framework, a new process of curriculum delivery is collaboratively derived through reflection, direct experience and the examination of personal values, to produce a three- to five-year plan that doesn’t add to an already crowded curriculum, but provides a model for rethinking what we are required to teach.

If you are interested in discussing how this opportunity would impact your school development planning, please contact the EcoTeam.
