The Internet has its own special type of formatting that makes Web pages look good on the screen. That same formatting, however, doesn't always translate well to a printed page. For one, computer monitors are horizontal in format and most users want to print onto a vertical page.
You can see what a Web page will look like when you print it by using the Print Preview function that is in the File menu of your Web browser. If the Print Preview shows that the Web page is too wide or too long for the paper you can make adjustments so the page will fit on your paper. You may either select "fit on paper" (typically an option within the print menu) or make adjusts in your Page Setup menu. To enter Page Setup, click on File, and then choose Page Setup. Here you may select the paper orientation, the margins (try reducing to a smaller amount) and the paper size.
Many of the documents that are on the CBE site are posted in pdf format. Most of our pdf documents are formatted to 81/2 x 11 size, so printing these should not be an issue.
If these tips do not enable you to print our website properly (as well as most other sites on the Internet) then please email us:
