View student success in the CBE Career and Technology Centre
CALGARY – Explore an alternative concept in education at the Calgary Board of Education’s Career and Technology Centre open house. On Jan. 12, 2012, students and staff will give the community a look at this unique environment.
Hear firsthand from teachers, students and Mark Anderson, assistant principal with CBe-learn, as they discuss real-life career and technology success stories. Students will be available to speak to their experiences as they demonstrate their skills in subject areas including welding, auto body and hairstyling.
In this state-of-the-art facility, students explore a variety of career paths including pre-engineering, auto body, cosmetology and welding. Additional programs are beginning in 2012/13, including pre-apprenticeship professional cooking, management and marketing, community care services, tourism, communication technology, environmental stewardship and logistics.
Date: Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012
Time: Ongoing skills demonstrations from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
