Queen Elizabeth High School evacuated

Calgary—Queen Elizabeth will be open for school on Wednesday.

About 1,400 Kindergarten to Grade 12 students were evacuated from Queen Elizabeth School and High School just before noon Tuesday. They were taken to West Hilllhurst Community Centre, 1940 – 6 Ave. N.W.

Parents of the students were contacted and students were not released until that was done. The students were evacuated due to a gas leak in the neighbourhood at the instruction of the fire department.
