COLLABORATIVE CONCERT PROMISES AN
‘ORFF THE WALL’ EXPERIENCE
What do you get when you add 40 barred instruments, over 50 drums, buckets, boomwhackers and 350 students? A Musical Extravaganza that is sure to be ‘Orff the Wall’.
‘Orff the Wall’ is an annual concert in its sixth year, featuring Elementary School Music Programs of The Calgary Board Of Education. This impressive concert has surpassed all expectations, growing significantly with each passing year, and even having to change venues from a church to the Jack Singer Concert Hall to accommodate the growth.
‘Orff the Wall’ promises exciting performances ranging from Classical to Jazz, Stomp to 50’s Rock, and will end in a moving mass performance of “Simple Gifts”, accompanied by the Carthy organ and hand bells.
Students range from eight to 12 years old, and have a range of musical skills and backgrounds. Regardless of composition, all the schools perform at a very high caliber, yet again raising the bar for future concerts.
The 2010 ‘Orff the Wall’ concert takes place on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Tickets are $12.00 in advance, $15 at the door.
