On behalf of the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) Trustees, we are pleased to present the CBE’s Report to the Community 2009.
The Report to the Community 2009 is a snapshot of our students’ superb results, and some of the means through which these results are achieved.
Results featured in the Report demonstrate our students’ progress towards the five CBE Ends: Academic Success, Citizenship, Personal Development and Character, all of which contribute to the Mega End – each student, in keeping with his or her individual abilities and gifts, will complete high school with a foundation of learning to function effectively in life, work and continued learning. The Report contains illustrations of how our students’ results shine by provincial, national and international standards.
These results are not achieved without thoughtful planning, commitment to the centrality of learning and wise use of available funds. Innovative programs, outstanding staff, award-winning leadership, and responsible stewardship all contribute to our students’ success. The Report features examples of each of these contributors.
The Report to the Community 2009 is dedicated to our students, staff, parents and community partners who have helped build the Calgary Board of Education into the world-class public education system that it is today.
