EMAAN and recognition of CBE's Muslim students
Education is one of the most important tenets of Islam. The Muslim Association of Canada held its 7th annual Educational Muslim Achievement Awards Night (EMAAN) on May 14th, 2010 at Glenmore Inn. The event honoured and recognized Muslim students from the Universities, SAIT, High Schools and Junior High Schools in the city of Calgary. The objective of the event is to encourage Muslim youth to seek knowledge by furthering their education, to contribute positively to society and to celebrate Muslim student achievements. The event also gave special awards in the areas of Quranic memorization, Community service, Literature, Journalism, Arts, Science and Sports. This year 107 high school and 17 junior high students from the Calgary Board of Education applied for the recognition. Congratulations to our graduating Muslim students and thanks to The Muslim Association of Canada, EMAAN, for your efforts and collaboration with CBE’s Department of Diversity.
