CBE students win Calgary Stampede Western Art Scholarships

Seven Calgary students were recognized by the Calgary Stampede as part of the 2011 Western Art Scholarships program this summer. Six of those students were from CBE schools, as follows:
First place ($2,000): Roxy Armstrong, William Aberhart High School
Second place ($1,750): Kali Reimchen, Central Memorial High School
Third Place ($1,500): Tyler Grant, James Fowler High School
Honourable Mention: Agnes Kwon, Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School; Amy Kwon, Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School; Di (Wing) Wo, Western Canada High School
The competition was open to all Calgary students in their final year of high school who wished to submit a piece of their own original western-themed artwork. The award-winning art was on display throughout the 10 days of the Calgary Stampede this year.
