Stanley Jones School evacuation
At the Calgary Board of Education there is nothing more important than the safety of our students and employees.
Today Stanley Jones School was evacuated and the Calgary Fire Department was called because of a chemical smell in one section of the school. The decision was made at 11:30 a.m. to close the school for the day to ensure the safety of all students and employees.
Parents and guardians are being contacted directly so that arrangements can be made for students to be picked up from the school. Employees will remain with the students in the school’s gymnasium, which was not affected, until they can be picked up from the school.
We would ask that parents park on 6 Street when they come to pick up students and enter through the 6 Street gymnasium doors. Those people picking up students should check with a teacher before leaving the school.
School will be open Friday, Nov. 4.
If there are any questions, please contact the Area II office at 403-777-8720.
