LEAD (Literacy, English and Academic Development) classes
The Calgary Board of Education offers an intensive English language, literacy and academic upgrading program for students who enter the system with limited English and a background of limited formal schooling. These students may have arrived from refugee camps or from countries at war, and have not had much opportunity to attend school. Students for this program are identified by Kingsland Admissions and Assessment staff. The LEAD classes are located at Annie Foote, Connaught, Mount Royal, Senator Patrick Burns, Terry Fox, Ernest Morrow, Forest Lawn, James Fowler and Henry Wise Wood schools.
