ARE SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR MY KINDERGARTEN CHILD?
The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) provides services and supports for families and school communities who work with Kindergarten children identified with mild, moderate and severe exceptional education needs. These services and supports are provided in schools through a collaborative team approach.
WHAT SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MY KINDERGARTEN CHILD?
Services vary depending on the needs of individual children. Your child's teacher will be supported in modifying the Kindergarten program to best meet your child's needs. A multidisciplinary team is available to support teachers, children and parents that may include specialists, strategists, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and/or physical therapists.
HOW CAN I ACCESS SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR MY KINDERGARTEN CHILD?
Programming for Kindergarten children with exceptional education needs occurs within regular classrooms in all CBE schools. For more information about accessing this programming please contact your child's classroom teacher or the principal of your CBE school.
