Once a school or program is being considered for possible closure, the CBE follows the Closure of Schools Regulation (pursuant to the School Act), as proclaimed by the Province of Alberta. Below is a chart outlining the steps the CBE must follow to be compliant with the provincial regulatory process.

Please visit the Public Meetings page to find more information on school or program closures (2012), including written notices, questions from parents and community members (key stakeholders), as well as administrative recommendation reports requesting the Board of Trustees to consider the closure of a school or program.
