About School Name

The school is named after Henry Wise Wood, an Alberta pioneer, who was born in 1860 in Missouri, USA. Henry Wise Wood moved to Alberta in 1905 and became a Canadian citizen in 1909. He was instrumental in forming the Alberta Wheat Pool and the United Farmers of Alberta.
