Adolescent Day Treatment Program is a short-term program for junior high and senior high school students with severe mental health issues. There is a classroom component as well as individual and group counseling, family support and on-site support from a psychiatrist. Referrals to the program are through Access Mental Health.
The Young Adult Program is a short-term program for adolescent students with severe mental health issues requiring a residential hospital placement. There is a classroom component as well as individual and group counseling, family support and psychiatric support. Access to the program is through the emergency departments of the three major Calgary hospitals.
Both the Adolescent Day Treatment Program and the Young Adult Program are focused on identifying and creating the conditions for success for students as unique learners and as members of their school and home communitites. They are both trauma sensitive learning environments.
