Closure of the existing Ernest Manning High School approved by the Board October 7, 2008. Design of the new West Calgary High School, including
CBe-learn School and the National Sport School, commenced in October 2008, in accordance with a tri-party agreement between the Province, the City of Calgary and the CBE. Parkade lease agreement being finalized. Project on schedule. Contractor making good progress on site. The 3rd wing was approved by the Province November 26, 2009 and by the City January 22, 2010. Construction is approximately 50% complete, with the exception of the third wing due to its later approval. Structure and building enclosure work on the third wing is in progress. On the remainder of the building interior partitioning mechanical and electrical work is occurring. It is anticipated that the third wing will be completed at the same time as the core school.

School is anticipated for completion September 2011. Watch this web site for further details as we near opening day.
West Calgary High School is planned to be a Grade 10-12 school with an opening capacity of 1800.
