Thorncliffe School is located in the northwest community of Thorncliffe, serving the communities of Thorncliffe and Greenview. Students from Thorncliffe School move on to either Sir John A. Macdonald, Georges P. Vanier, or Colonel Irvine for Grades 7 to 9. After junior high, they may choose to attend either John G. Diefenbaker or James Fowler High School.

About the School

The school was built in 1957 and is situated on 5.86 acres. The school has 10 classrooms, a gymnasium, and a library. There are 2 soccer fields and 2 softball fields. There are 2 programs in Thorncliffe School. One is the K-Gr. 6 regular school program for children who live in the community and the other is a Traditional Learning Centre Kindergarten/Grade 1 program. The children registered in this program go to Colonel Sanders School to continue the Traditional Learning Centre Program.

Thorncliffe School derived its name from the community in which it is located.
