Abbeydale School is located in the community of Abbeydale. It is the only
public school in the community. Students
from Abbeydale go on to Dr. Gladys McKelvie
Egbert and then go to
Forest Lawn High School.

About the School
|
The school was built in 1980 and is situated
on 2.52 acres. Abbeydale has an extensive school yard with playground equipment. The school has 19 classrooms and a junior high sized gymnasium.
Within the building we have specialized rooms for music, information and communication technology, physical education, and library/media center.

At Abbeydale Elementary School we have:
- an active School Council and a corp of volunteers who assist with both classroom and office work
- a variety of field trip experiences for each grade which are made possible by the staff and many parent volunteers
- a dedicated staff who are committed to implementing the school philosophy and providing a quality program that enhances reading and writing skills, critical thinking skills and a focus on Math literacy in order to enable each student to achieve success
- a variety of extra-curricular activities which include: Leadership Clubs, School Patrols, Library Helpers, Choir and Handbells
- a Technology Plan that is well under way in our PC environment and media center to support the 21st century learner
- a strong focus on curriculum and diversity with a Math focus
- many opportunities for continuous teacher professional growth
- Staff is trained in Lion's Quest Citizenship Program that is directly connected to our school motto and focus as well as monthly virtues
