located in the northwest part of Beddington
Heights, south of Beddington Trail at Berkshire Boulevard, and serves the community of
Beddington Heights. Students from
Beddington Heights School move
on to Colonel Irvine for Grades 6 to 9 then to John G.
Diefenbaker High School.

About the School
|
The school was built in 1981 and is situated on 3.65 acres (1.477 hectares) jointly shared by the Calgary Board of Education and the City of Calgary. Beddington Heights School has 17 classrooms. The school has a high-school size gymnasium, a 15 000 volume library, a computer lab, and music room. Only students living in Beddington Heights are eligible to attend the school.

The school was named after the town of Beddington in Surrey, England. The community has the same name.

- We have a strong emphasis on academics, particularly early reading intervention.
- We have a music specialist and a physical education specialist.
- We have a full-time English as a Second Language teacher to work with students and teachers in the classroom setting. An Education Assistant also supports our ESL learners
- We have a strong and supportive school council.
- We accommodate all K-5 students in the community.
- We have a highly experienced teaching staff
- All certificated staff work with students for the first hour of each day to support reading skill development.
