Mount View School is located in the (inner city) northeast community of Mount View, serving the communities of Mount View and Winston Heights and Tuxedo Park. Students from Mount View School move on to either Colonel Macleod or Georges P. Vanier School and then on to either Crescent Heights or James Fowler High School.

About the School

The school was built in 1948 and is situated on 5.22 acres. The school has 7 classrooms, a library, a computer lab, gymnasium, and a music room. Mount View School also houses a Before and After School Care program run by Churchill Park Family Care Society, the STOP program (Short Term Observation Program), as well as the Area II offices and conference rooms.

The school was named after the community in which it is located.

Each child fully develops skills, attitudes, and intellectual capabilities in positive directions resulting in responsible, adaptable, contributing members of society both now and in the future.

    • Wide variety of extra-curricular activities including choir, library club, crafts, and sports. Student leadership, patrols.
    • Strong emphasis on the application of technology in learning. Fully networked with a computer lab as well as a portable lab with laptops, computers within each classroom and smart boards in every classroom.
    • A quality Before and After School Care Program is run by the Churchill Park Family Care Society and housed within Mount View School.
    • Between Generations, mentorship program.
    • Lunchroom program.
    • S.T.O.P. program (8 week program – students returned from schools north of the Bow River)
    • Active school council and volunteer program.
    • First Calgary is our corporate partner. Calgary Coop is our community partner.
