Chinook Park Elementary School, a French Immersion, English and Communication and Behavior school, is located in the southwest community of Chinook Park.

The English program serves the communities of Bel-Aire, Chinook Park, Eagle Ridge, Kelvin Grove, Kingsland, Mayfair and Meadowlark Park. English students from Chinook Park Elementary School feed into Woodman Junior High School and then Henry Wise Wood High School.

The French Immersion program serves the communities of Altadore, Braeside, Bayview, Bel-Aire, Canyon Meadows, Cedarbrae, Chinook Park, Eagle Ridge, Garrison Woods, Glamorgan, Haysboro, Kelvin Grove, Kingsland, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Mayfair, North Glenmore Park, Oakridge, Palliser, Pump Hill, Rutland Park, Southwood, Woodbine and Woodlands. For the current school year only, grade six students from Evergreen, Evergreen Estates, Fairview, Midnapore, Millrise, Riverbend, Ogden, Shawnee Slopes, Shawnessey, Silverado, Somerset and Sundance are also designated to Chinook Park. French Immersion students from Chinook Park Elementary School feed into Harold Panabaker Junior High School and then to Dr. E.P. Scarlett for High School.

About the School

The school was built initially in 1960, with additions in 1966 and 1974, and is situated on 3.97 acres. The school has 31 classrooms, including computer room and music room; in addition there is a library and gymnasium. The Communication and Behavior Program joined this English and French Immersion School in September 2000.

About School Name

Ecole Chinook Park School was named after the community in which it is located.
