About the School
As of May 2008, Ian Bazalgette School has been completely renovated. Renovations have been completed in the following areas: all academic classrooms, 2 new computer labs, construction shop, foods and fashion lab, music room, library, 2 art rooms, drama performing area, cafeteria (hot lunch program) and lunch room. Along with these state of the art instructional spaces, Ian Bazalgette has one of the finest gymnasiums in the city.
The staff at Ian Bazalgette School are committed to helping students achieve success both academically and socially. There are numerous opportunities for students to excell in the arts, athletics and academics.
The school is situated on a very large area between Valley View School and Holy Cross School.
About School Name
Ian Bazalgette was a bomber pilot in World War II who received the Victoria Cross, Canada's highest decoration for valor, for attempting to save the lives of his crew members when their plane was shot down over France. He died in that attempt.
