Lake Bonavista School is located in the southeast quadrant of the Bonavista community. As a dual track school we offer a regular program for kindergarten to grade 4 students in Lake Bonavista and Bonavista Downs as well as a public Montessori program for kindergarten to grade 6 students south of Glenmore Trail.
Children at our school enjoy a high standard of academic instruction as well as many enriching experiences which contribute to well-rounded students.
Students from the local communities move on to Nickle Middle School. A Montessori Junior High is, as yet, only in the planning stages.

About the School
|
Lake Bonavista School was built in 1969. It is a mid-sized school with an inviting, friendly atmosphere. Our school has fifteen classrooms, a well-equipped media centre and gymnasium. Recent infrastructure upgrades such as removal of asbestos, painting and replacement of floor coverings contribute to a cheerful, bright school. In addition, School Council recently replaced our two outdoor creative playgrounds. A beautiful outdoor garden was opened in 2000. This learning area offers a site for student exploration and contemplation. It was designed by a former parent, Marilyn Gillett, to delight the child's senses.

About School Name
|
Lake Bonavista School was the first public elementary of three schools to be built in the area and, therefore, was named for the Bonavista community.
