Unique Points
Through high expectations, strong parent support, and a program which offers challenge, variety, enrichment, and scheduled resource support for students, we create an environment where each student can go as far as possible every year.
In the 2006-2007 school year we will continue to aligning our work with the CBE Ends Statements. I particular, E2 and E5 help us to address achievement for all of our students and the creation and maintenance of a positive learning culture built with strong citizens. We have instituted an intentional structure for supporting character education.
Students, parents, and staff sign a contract making a commitment to support those conditions which allow students to feel safe, valued, and successful.
Woodman has created an umbrella of leadership opportunities, both formal and informal, whereby students can and do take ownership for most of the activities which take place during the year. These activities are aimed at community involvement, social awareness, school improvement, and school spirit.
Woodman has created a program typified by academic success, cross-curricular initiatives, multiple off-campus opportunities for learning and growth, high extra-curricular involvement, and the celebration of individual student efforts in all areas.
We continue to upgrade our technology resources. This year we have wireless capacity throughout the school and we will be complimenting our two computer labs and tech. ed. lab with the purchase of mobile wireless laptop carts to enhance student access to and the application of technology for quality learning.
Woodman offers daily core and physical education instruction. In addition, we provide a varied complimentary subject program to afford early adolescent learners the elements of choice and exploration.
