About the School
The school was built in 1956 and is situated on 3.67 acres. Significant modifications have been made to the school over the last 44 years. Wildwood School is located in the southwest picturesque community of Wildwood and is part of Area IV of the Calgary Board of Education. Currently there are 52 staff, 32 teachers and 20 support staff who implement the CBE Ends and three year plan for every student. The school currently has 25 classrooms, a library, double gymnasium, and two computer resource centers located in the library and Room 1.
Every student has access to quality music and drama as part of the fine arts program, French as a Second Language and daily physical education. There is an outdoor naturalization classroom (The Wild Woods), which is used to connect core curriculum, the environment and the fine arts. Students learn and achieve through an inquiry approach. Student diversity at Wildwood School is a strength that is celebrated and embraced. Staff at Wildwood School work hard to create learning opportunities that engage students and challenge their thinking in multiple ways, in a personalized learning environment.
