The Calgary Board of Education offers a wide selection of programming choices for students, however, the CBE does not receive transportation funding for all students.  The CBE receives government transportation funding only for students in the regular, special education and language programs

Congregated Stops
Certain CBE programs have limited charter transportation service and parents are responsible to ensure their children travel safely to and from congregated stops. Congregated stops may not be located in each residential district or within walking distance for students. Congregated stops are located based on factors such as ease of access for the bus, public space for students to gather and available parking for parents. Requests to add or move congregated stops will not be considered. Congregated stops apply to students in the following programs:

Bilingual and Immersion Language Programs
Alice Jamieson Girls’ Academy
All-Boys Alternative Program
Arts-Centred Learning
Montessori Programs
Piitoayis Family School 
Science Schools 
Traditional Learning Centres

Calgary Transit
For some programs of choice, instead of providing charter transportation, the CBE will subsidize monthly Calgary Transit Youth bus passes. Students in the following programs will be required to use Calgary Transit and will be entitled to claim a Calgary Transit Bus Pass Rebate:

Juno Beach Academy
National Sports Development		 National Sport Academy

In our efforts to keep parents and families informed of bus route information, we have provided a list of alternative programs and the description of the bus routes that service these schools. Please note that these routes are only for the start of the school year and may be subject to change. This route information will not be updated on the website throughout the school year. Any changes in routes will be communicated through your school.
