Embrace the World en Français (pdf)

French Immersion is the most predominant alternative language program within the Calgary Board of Education. French is used as the language of instruction over fifty percent of the instructional day, beginning in Kindergarten or Grade 1 and continuing to Grade 12.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Entry point - Grade 7
    Previous French experience is not required and parents do not need to know the language
  • Subjects taught in French:
    • Grades 7, 8 and 9
      French Language Arts; Mathematics; Science; Social Studies
    • Grades 10, 11 and 12
      French Language Arts; Social Studies; Mathematics
