Summer School provides current CBE high school students the opportunity to either take one course or earn credits while gaining valuable work experience through off-campus opportunities.
- In-person courses are offered through Chinook Learning Services at multiple locations throughout the city. Classes take place from July 2 to 28.
- Online courses are offered virtually through CBe-learn. Classes take place from July 2 to 27.
- Summer Off-Campus courses are offered through
Chinook Learning Services and
Unique Pathways.

Time Commitment
Summer School programming is extremely condensed. This intensive pace requires students to be able to independently manage their course loads.
- Most in-person courses run Monday - Friday, 8:15 AM to 12:42 PM. There is also an expectation of student independent work for a minimum of one additional hour each school day.
- Online courses require a minimum time commitment of five hours per weekday for 5-credit courses.

Registration
Students may register for a maximum of one course for summer school. Due to limited space and resources, only current CBE students in Grades 10 – 12 can register. Current CBE Grade 9 students can only register in Mathematics 15.
Contact your current school counsellor or school administrator to apply. Families will be notified by email between June 1 to 5 to confirm if their enrolment was accepted.

Diploma Exams – Aug. 4 - 12
Diploma Exams for 30-level in-person and online summer school courses will be written by all students at a central location:
- Social Studies 30-2 Part A and Part B Diploma Exams at Chinook Learning Services’ downtown location, within Bow Valley College - 332 - 6 Ave S.E.
- All other exams at Nelson Mandela High School – 45 Saddletowne Cir N.E.
