The Board of Trustees advocates for public education and supports the best interests of students across the CBE.

As part of this work, Trustees engage with constituents, share information with elected officials and government representatives, and advocate both individually as a Board and collectively through the Alberta School Boards Association.

Priorities

The Board of Trustees continues to advocate for education funding to keep pace with escalating student enrolment and rising costs, and the building of critically needed new learning spaces.

Current Priority

Ongoing Need for Learning Spaces

Modernization School Icon Box

On March 17, the Board of Trustees approved the 2027-2030 Three-Year School Capital Plan , requesting 27 projects for new and modernized learning spaces across Calgary. We believe public schools are the heart of a community. Right now, most CBE schools are full and new schools are still needed. Our goal is for generations of students to attend a school close to home, learn alongside neighbours in modern learning spaces and avoid long bus rides.
