System-wide Professional Development Day for Language Teachers
You are invited to learn, connect, collaborate and engage with other language teachers in the CBE. There will be many of our colleagues presenting and sharing valuable knowledge that will enhance our practices and professional toolkits with the Languages Learning Lens!
Keynote Speaker
Monica Tang, Simon Fraser University
Monica Tang has been working in French Immersion and language education for almost twenty years. She is currently a Limited-Term Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Through her doctoral research on the bilingual identity of French teachers in British Columbia, she has contributed to the creation of a new course for pre-service teachers at SFU that offers them language and identity support. She has also developed a collection of pedagogical resources in support of language learning through an identity-focused approach. From kindergarten to graduate school, she seeks to help multilingual teachers and students thrive and find joy in language learning.
