CBE schools and programs require a lottery when student registrations exceed available spaces. All students who live within a school's designated attendance area and register before the deadline are included in the lottery.
Refer to the chart below to determine whether your school or program is currently identified as requiring a lottery and use the drop-down menu to access its lottery priority zone map to confirm whether you live inside the lottery priority zone.
Important | Register before the registration deadline to be included in a lottery. Students who register after the deadline will be added to the callback list.
If your designated regular program is listed below, review the Overflow School List to see where students who are unsuccessful in the lottery will be overflowed.
Lottery Priority Zone Maps
Students who live within the school's lottery priority zone are prioritized in school lotteries. Lottery priority zones help identify students who live closest to the school and are only used for lottery placement.
Lottery priority zones are different from:
- designated attendance area boundaries
- walk zones
- transportation eligibility zones
For information about lottery priorities, response timelines and the lottery process, visit the Lottery page.

All students within the designated boundary will be included in the lottery. Those residing in the lottery zone will receive higher priority in the draw.
