Teacher Hiring and Recruitment

Hiring

CBE’s teacher posting for December graduates is available beginning in early. November, with interviews taking place in from December onward. CBE’s teacher posting for Spring graduates is available from early January through June, with interviews taking place from beginning in February into the late summer. All candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before graduation with a resume and cover letter. Upon graduation, applicants can complete the application profiles with remaining required documents.

CBE accepts applications to our General K-12 posting (Substitute Roster) from current teachers as system need requires throughout the year.

CBE has four additional teacher postings for specialized teaching areas, which are open year-round. These postings are for Special / Inclusive Education, Second Languages, Career and Technology Studies, and Indigenous Education. Applicants should only apply to these postings if they are qualified and hope to teach in these specific areas.

Recruitment

CBE Teacher Staffing team attends career fairs at universities across Canada from October through February to meet students graduating with a Bachelor of Education degree. Participating in university career fairs helps us find the best teachers throughout the country and invite them to work for the Calgary Board of Education.
