The ICT Software & Web Development program bundles two courses, Object-Oriented Programming ( CPRG216 ) and Web Development ( CPRG213 ). Object-Oriented Programming, from SAIT’s new Information Technology Services diploma program. New at SAIT – graduates of the IT services diploma can continue on to the new Bachelor of Technology degree program!
Object-Oriented Programming explores the use of programming languages as tools that can be used to provide IT business solutions. In Web Development, students will gain hands-on experience with front-end HTML, CSS, ASP.NET Core and JavaScript. In both courses, students will create and implement website applications using industry-standard programming languages.

Eligibility
Open to CBE high school students who:
- Are in grades 11 or 12 during the program
- Have a strong interest in exploring a pathway in software development
- Are excited about taking post-secondary courses
- Are able to arrange their own transportation to and from SAIT and their home high school for the duration of the program
- Are on track to successfully pass the following courses or equivalents:
- Math 30-1 or 30-2 (minimum 60%)
- ELA 30-1 or 30-2 (minimum 60%)

Location & Delivery
This course is offered online, synchronous – students will meet live with their instructor during scheduled times.
Online synchronous learning means participating in live, real-time classes where you interact with your instructor and classmates simultaneously.

Timetable Requirements
Students must have no morning classes in their timetable at their home high school to accommodate this program.
Workload
Students can expect a total of 12 online synchronous hours per week and approximately 3-5 hours of additional independent work per week for a total of 15-17 hours per week.

Considerations
- Online synchronous courses are live with the post-secondary instructor. They run at set times and attendance is required.
- Students must have space in their school timetable to accommodate the program times.
- Students must also have time in their lives outside of school to complete work for their Dual Credit program in addition to their regular school assignments.
- Students must meet all course assignments, quizzes, and test deadlines in order to be successful.
- Students must submit a personal learning schedule with their application, which outlines when they will work on their Dual Credit coursework outside of class time.
- Students must be registered as a full-time student, taking at least one course at their home high school during the program (work experience excluded).
- Students will be expected to communicate regularly with both their CBE supervising teacher and their course instructor.

- Read through the course(s) and/or program(s) of interest.
- Review program choice with your school Off-Campus Coordinator and/or Guidance Counsellor for program readiness and timetabling concerns.
- You are highly encouraged to attend the Unique Pathways Information Night to ask questions of our program partners and determine if the program is a good fit for you. Connect with your Off-Campus Coordinator or Guidance counsellor if you are unable to attend.
- Download and fill in the Dual Credit Application Form Package when available.
- Refer to the application checklist and ensure all items are complete.
- Book an appointment with your Off-Campus Coordinator and/or Guidance Counsellor before the deadline to complete your application, including signatures from all parties.
- The school will submit the application to Unique Pathways on your behalf.
