Christina Heavenfire, a Grade 10 student from
Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School has been named the 2022-2023 Tsuut'ina Education Princess.
As Tsuut'ina Education Princess, Christina will act as a cultural representative, promoting individually selected platforms, sharing First Nation Culture, and representing the Tsuut'ina Nation at both local and international events. This role is important to the Tsuut’ina community because it helps perpetuate local traditions and overturn stereotypes. It also encourages Tsuut’ina students to pursue their educational goals.
A large thank you goes to Jennifer Big Plume, Provincial School Liaison, for encouraging Christina to apply for this role.
On June 21, 2022, school staff will be able to watch Christina perform some traditional dancing to kick-off professional learning activities on that day.
