Apply Now for the 2022-23 Minister’s Youth Council

​​​Starting Feb. 14, Alberta Education is recruiting students for the 2022-23 Minister’s Youth Council. Participating in the council will give students the opportunity to make a real impact on Alberta’s education system, build their leadership skills and leave a legacy that will last for generations to come.

Alberta Education is looking for about 40 junior and senior high school students, aged 14 to 19, with diverse interests, identities, backgrounds and perspectives from all regions of Alberta. Of the 40 council members, Alberta Education will accept up to eight returning members and at least 32 new members.

Students on the Minister's Youth Council share their diverse student perspectives and provide input on education topics. They bring a broad range of life experiences, knowledge and skills from all types of schools across Alberta.

Students are members of the Minister’s Youth Council for a 10-month term that aligns with the school year. During the school year, the council attends three meetings.
