CALGARY – The Board of Trustees has approved a collective agreement with the Calgary Board of Education Construction and Maintenance Skilled Trades Union (Bargaining Council).

The agreement has a three-year term, expiring Aug. 31, 2021. The agreement provides for zero per cent wage increases but provides for a wage and compensation reopener in the third year.

Approximately 100 CBE employees are covered by the terms of the agreement. Their jobs include those of electrician, plumber, carpenter and more.

"This agreement is respectful of both employees and the CBE’s current fiscal realities," said Board of Trustees Chair Marilyn Dennis. "These employees hold important roles to support our schools and we are grateful to have their support."
Other updates to the agreement include changes in personal leave and the addition of a clothing allowance.
