CALGARY – Catherine Nichols Gunn students have been working with Blackfoot artist, Ryan Willert, to create a mural at their school. On the afternoon of April 18 the school will proudly unveil the mural to the public.

Spread over three large panels, with Willert’s buffalo head in the center, students and staff painted their own small buffalo charging through the storm. This mural brings to life the teaching that Willert brought into each classroom around the importance of the buffalo, the law of the four elements and the Blackfoot medicine wheel.

This project has been funded, in part, by a grant from EducationMatters.

Media are invited to attend the unveiling of Catherine Nichols Gunn’s completed mural.
