CBE Releases Employee Engagement Results

Jul. 02, 2019

The CBE conducted its second employee engagement survey in the spring. The strong response on this survey is very encouraging, with more than 9,200 employees participating. That’s an increase of more than 1,200 participants from the 2017 employee engagement survey.

The results show an overall decline in the engagement score, from 58 per cent in 2017 to 54 per cent on this year’s survey. While there have been some areas of improvement, there are also some areas of decline. One area of decline that we need to pay attention to is the perceptions employees have of our senior leadership team.

We are paying close attention to the results. We are becoming more responsive to the needs of staff, students and families by moving resources and services closer to schools. The change in how we support schools will lead to greater collaboration between employees. We know that we can do better and our leadership team is committed to improving.
