William Aberhart High School Student is a National Essay Contest Winner

Jun. 01, 2020

Félicitations to Lena D., Grade 12 French Immersion student from William Aberhart High School for winning the French for the Future 15th edition Concours national de redaction. More than 500 students have participated from coast to coast, submitting an original essay on the following theme:

"On June 17, 2019, Canada has declared a climate emergency.
If you were put in charge of leading the government, how would you respond to this emergency?"

Lena was one of the 90 winners who won a scholarship, in the second language learner category, for the University of Lethbridge. French for the future has 13 partner institutions who offer a French bursary for this annual contest.

What a great opportunity to continue a post-secondary education in French!

BRAVO Lena!
