Update for Families - Aug. 26, 2020

Aug. 26, 2020

Dear Families,

As we prepare for school opening next week, we have created a series of videos to help our families better understand and see some of the different health measures that will be in place when schools open for in-person learning on Sept.1, 2020.

You’ll receive another update from the CBE by the end of the week.

Sept. 1 is the official start date for CBE schools. However, we will use a staggered entry approach during the first week in September to allow for a smooth transition back to school. By the end of this week, you will receive information from your school about staggered entry times for the first week of school. Schools will also share their individual school re-entry plans with all parents by Friday.

Registration for the hub online learning option for CBE students closed at 4 p.m. on Aug. 24. We have just over 21,000 students registered, or approximately 16 per cent of our total student enrolment. These numbers are not final, as parents have the opportunity to withdraw their students prior to the start of the school year. Families who have registered in the hub will receive a confirmation email from their school on Friday with next steps.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
