CALGARY – The Board of Trustees has approved a short-term collective agreement with the CBE Staff Association.

The agreement expires at the end of August 2017 and is retroactive to September 2015.

For the first year of the contract there will be no wage increase. The second year of the contract may be open to further wage and compensation negotiation.

“This is a fair agreement in an uncertain economic climate,” said Board of Trustees Chair Joy Bowen-Eyre. “Our students will continue to be supported and excellent learning environments will be maintained across the system.”

Other changes were made to the agreement to further support professional development and to clarify issues such as hours of work and position descriptions.

“Our Staff Association employees perform critical roles in our organization,” said Bowen-Eyre. “They support students inside and outside of the classroom; we are pleased to come to an agreement with these important members of our staff.”
