Students at
Midnapore School have been busy stuffing socks in time for Christmas! The Grade 2 Mandarin Bilingual class, as well as their Grade 5/6 buddy class organized a school-wide project called “Fill a Sock, Fill a Need” for the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
Inspired by ‘We Day’ and a project connected to volunteerism in their community, students have chosen local charities to support. This month they focused on collecting toiletries in order to provide clients of the Drop-In Centre with a stocking sock stuffed with essential, everyday items for Christmas. The students are embracing their S4 cornerstones of ‘Service’ and ‘Significance’ by confirming the motto ‘we have something to offer others, and we all belong and we all matter’. The School is proud to announce that they collected and stuffed over 100 socks.
Congratulations Midnapore School.
